Visual environment. Homogeneous visual field
-->
In conclusion we should enumerate mechanisms of visual perception which are able to work within
homogeneous environment to the full extent.
In homogeneous environment saccadic automation is not able to work to the full extent
since after successive saccade an eye does not found a detail for fixation. That leads
to abrupt increase of amplitude of saccadic eyes movements. However, such mode does not
take effect. Durable work in this mode first results in discomfort and afterwards - to
saccadic automation disturbance.
In homogeneous environment on- and off- systems cannot operate to the full extent,
i.e. systems which under normal conditions actuate only for illumination drop. In
homogeneous environment there cannot be physically such a drop since before and after
saccade, vision remains within the limits of homogeneous visible field. As a result,
after successive saccade there is insufficient information applied to the brain, i.e.
after an action is performed - saccades - no acknowledgment to such action. As a result,
the visual system finds itself as if in confusion resulting inevitably in unpleasant
perceptions. On the other hand, insufficiency of a sensor signal decreases the power
of feedback between sensor and motor systems which, under normal conditions, work organically.
The eyes binocular system is not able to work in homogeneous environment to the full
extent since mismatch of contours is generated by a pulse which merges two images of the
right and left eye, and that is not available in homogeneous field.
Other vision mechanisms, accommodation mechanisms, regulation of apple size in particular,
cannot work to the full extent in homogeneous environment.
Besides, brain nerve cells do not work out properly in homogeneous environment.
Here what D. Hubel, the Nobel Prize winner, writes about it: "The majority of
cortical cells badly respond to diffusion illumination and well - to lines with required
orientation.
Thus, we may affirm that decor of buildings have functional meaning, and that who was
the first to say about "architectural extravagances" caused great harm to all of us.
Suffered was not only aesthetics but fundamental vision processes are threatened. An that
means that one should not addict to unreasonable glass fixing of buildings in all climatic
areas, one should not use large panels, chipboard, layers since that leads to homogenization
of visible environment in places where a human being lives and work. A human being becomes
victimized by his own creation work. He has lost himself chasing new construction
materials. His projects made of glass and concrete are designed with apparent neglect
to videoecology, and due to this they ride for a fall. For his optimum development
a human being should have his own environment complying with physiological standards.
